Migraine is a terrible headache that makes life harder for many. Research has been ongoing on various therapies that could potentially reduce the severity and frequency of migraine attacks. Few  realize how certain micronutrients can significantly influence the course of the illness.

A meta-analysis published in 2021 summarized the results of studies that examined the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation to treat migraines.

The studies revealed that as a result of vitamin D supplementation, the number of migraine episodes dropped, by nearly 3 per month on average, and the period of the headache shortened by one and a half days. Participants even filled in a survey to measure performance decline caused by migraine, and their results were coming along nicely.

To list just how many diverse illnesses can be connected to vitamin D deficiency is already a challenging task; it seems that migraine can be added to this sizable list.
